Can't Wait

I cannot wait until June 25th when I will be leaving England to fly off to South Africa for 6 months or maybe longer :)

I can't wait to see my family other than every other two years.
To see the cutest dog's ever.

To see sunsets like this

To spend time in here

Try to learn Afrikaans although 18 years has passed and I still can't seem to grasp it

I just can't wait to be done with college, to be out of England.
And to see what it would be like to live there since I can't remember.

Oh well 55 days to go.

Oh yes. I bought the cutest shoes from Clarks on sale which made them so much better.
(Never EVER would of thought you could get nice shoes there)
I think they really helped soothe my Wisdom tooth pain by distracting me with blisters.
Oh well just means I have to wear them more to wear them in :)

Also I ordered the beauties from Topshop last night which I'm way to excited for them arrive.

I have to be lame and say I spent about  2 weeks staring at these just in awe and saved up and hopefully Friday they shall be on my feet.

On a side note I just put film into my Minolta XD7, Praktica MTL3 and Cosmic Symbol (which I never knew was a Lomo camera so thats made me appreciate it a lot more) so I should be uploading more photos soon enough.

Oh they joys of film camera's

Iyerr! its been a while since I last blogged,
but thats because it took me about a month to use up the film for my Minolta and Rolleiflex.
However now my 35mm film has been developed and my rolleiflex is still being developed now and I should have it in less than a week.
YAY!

So since the last time I was on here I've been on easter holidays in which i did nothing but sleep, and visit a craft fair (which I got this cute artists palette necklace),
Oh look orange lipstick, wish I was brave enough to wear it outside of the house ha.
visted Virginia Waters and Wisley garden and took to many photos of flowers.

I ruined my tennis shoes and they are now stained to an orange colour?

I've had many driving lessons and can actually drive now without to much prompting and I booked my driving test. *shock horror*
I just hope I pass before I leave for South Africa. *fingers crossed*

I've banned myself from using my DSLR as I think I have broken it because it is SO slow and the pictures are always blurry and disgusting, so I've only been using my Minolta which I'm fine with as I prefer film over digital any day.

I think I may need to dig up my camera collection from under all my clothes and see what other cameras I can use so I can give Minnie a break. (Yes I named my camera, I name nearly everything that I own and use all the time )

Well I think thats all for now :)

beach day

Today I dragged my friend Polly to our local "beach" for her to model for me.
(I say "beach" as its a massive pond but theres sandy banks surrounding it so we call it a beach :])

Well anyway I did 2 shoots while there for my project "British Culture" for college,
although I'm really not sure how the photos link in as I haven't been able to do my original plan yet
and the project needs to be in for monday =/. Oh wells.

I did one shoot on the beach and one on the grassy area.

I would show the other shoot of the picnic but I don't really like them so I won't. :)

I'm starting my FMP soon which i'm very excited about.

Gosh i'm tired I feel like having a nap.

I don't even like HP Sauce!

Well hello again. I really need to get into the habit of blogging a bit more even if nobody does read this.

I have recently just started a new project at college "British Culture" its alright but I'm so much more focused on getting things ready for my Final Major Project which i just got told I can do my idea.
I haven't got many ideas for my project but I still have two weeks left.
Today I did a photoshoot with my friend Martha and painted her face in HP Sauce,
I felt so bad but she didn't mind. & anyway whats more british than HP Sa
uce?! ha.

Heres some photos from the shoot :)

it has been the most minimalistic shoot I have ever done and I quite like how it turned out.

Well i'm going to leave this short and sweet and go to bed now.

Well Hello

Its been a while and in that time I have turned 18 finally :)
for my 18th I went shopping in London and went mad in Topshop and H&M. After the shopping spree I went to The Ritz with my friends and we had
the Chocolate afternoon tea ofcourse.

On February 4th I went back up to London to see Iglu& Hartly live at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen and I have to say it was probably one the best gigs I've ever been to they were just so amazing and meeting Sam and Simon and getting hugs from them just made it 100 times better. They are such nice people I want to go see them again asap, hopefully they might tour in South Africa while I'm out there doing my gap year. One can dream!

I've done a few shoot's with telephones for my inventions project at college and heres a couple of pictures from that:

At the moment we are doing a project on journeys & I really, really do not like it!

While writing this blog I look like this:
I'm trying out a look for a photoshoot idea I have, & I got the idea from The Empire Of The Sun We Are The People for the make-up.

Since 2010 started I have only really listened to Iglu & Hartly, MGMT and The Empire Of The Sun. Its been fun!

Portfolio Times

My friend Polly & I
Hello, thought maybe since I've started a blog maybe
I should actually use it, so here we go:

Well its quite stressful for me at the moment as we are sorting
out our portfolio's for university interviews, and after I edited all my
photography and scanned imagery, my external hard drive
decided to wipe everything!
So I have been up til midnight scanning, editing and printing, not sure
I have ever been as exhausted as I am right now.
But the good thing coming out of it is the satisfaction of seeing my work mounted up
on a big white piece of paper just looking so much nicer somehow than in a book.

I also have to add I don't think I've ever been so excited to print, as
I have bought different types of paper and when printing it seeing how it
turns out and it looking good is just like 'YAY!'.

Recently I got given a Camera set and in it was a Minolta XD7 and a Rolleiflex
with numerous accesories and 2 more lenses for the Minolta.
I am so grateful to my dads friend who decided to give them me
and for my dad to bring it all the way back from South Africa.

The other week I did a 'photoshoot' and I took my new Minolta out and
experimented with it as working with a film camera is still new to me as I haven't
used one in about 2 years.
The 'photoshoot' was for my art project "Umbrella's" where we have to make
umbrella's on movement.
I chose to do body movement and focused on jumping,
more specifically puddle jumping as I thought it just fitted in nicely
and lately I have been a bit obsessed with Wellies.

Well anyway here is a picture I took with the Minolta

I am still getting used to focusing with the lense but I do really love this photo,
I took this when my friend Polly my model was sitting down relaxing after jumping for me,
which she did a lot of.

This was taken with my Sony DSLR.

Well I think its time to leave now still got some scanning to do.

A Little Introduction To Me & My Blog

Hello, my name is Sam.
I decided to start a blog to share my 'photography',
my thoughts and possibly some ramblings about what I like at the time.

A little about me:
I am an art student,
I collect records,
I like to dye my hair, alot.
I hope one day I can become a professional photographer,
I have quite the collection of cameras,
I love to go antique shopping,
I love to visit South Africa,
I like to bake although I can only really bake cupcakes,
I'm possibly on the internet a little bit to much,
I'm quite short,
& I am quite useless with punctuation.
